The Illinois 4-H Poultry Judging Team placed 14th overall out of 20 states which competed in the National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference in Louisville, KY on November 16. The teams also placed 10th in the Market Eggs Division and placed 9th in the Avian Bowl Contest. Laura Beardsley (Gilson, IL) placed 8th in the Production Hens Division. The other members of the team were Sarah Tenczar (U of I Freshman), Siera Thompson (Quincy), and Andy Spannagel (Villa Grove). Financial support for the team came from the State 4-H Office, Illinois 4-H Foundation, Illinois Poultry Industry Council, and the Illinois State Turkey Growers Association.
